In the biomass power plant, the expansion joints used in the Under-Boiler Bad Ash Screw area were expected to be long-lasting and durable in a highly corrosive ash environment. In accordance with these challenging conditions, a specially designed multi-layered expansion joint solution was developed.

This custom expansion joint is equipped with 5 layers of AISI 316 grade 300-mesh wire. This structure effectively prevents corrosive ash in the environment from filling the expansion joint, thereby maintaining its functionality. This innovative design has not only increased functionality but also succeeded in extending the expansion joint's service life by 175%.

The expansion joint fabric offers both mechanical durability and protection against high temperatures thanks to its multi-layered structure. The special metallic mesh between the layers and the selection of high-quality materials minimize thermal fatigue, ensuring the expansion joint operates reliably for a long time.
