In the biomass power plant, the expansion joints used in the Boiler Bottom Ash Screw zone were expected to be long-lasting and durable in a highly corrosive ash environment. In accordance with these harsh conditions, a custom-designed multi-layered expansion joint solution was developed.

This custom expansion joint is equipped with 5 layers of AISI 316 grade 300 mesh wire. This structure effectively prevents the corrosive ash in the environment from filling into the expansion joint, preserving its functionality. This innovative design not only enhanced functionality but also succeeded in extending the expansion joint's lifespan by 175%.

Thanks to its multi-layered structure, the expansion joint fabric offers both mechanical durability and protection against high temperatures simultaneously. The special metallic mesh between the layers and the selection of high-quality materials minimize thermal fatigue, ensuring that the expansion joint operates reliably for a long time.
